Product Detail

The YP Series Manual Pointer Hydraulic Press is a compact hydraulic press designed for laboratory sample preparation, powder compaction, material testing, and other low- to medium-force pressing applications. Available in 2, 3, 5, 12, and 15 ton configurations, the series provides direct mechanical pressure control through a manual lever and a dual-scale pressure gauge displaying Tons and MPa.

The compact structure allows the YP Series to be used in space-limited laboratory environments and glove boxes. Its integrated cylinder and piston construction helps reduce leakage and provides stable pressing performance for repeated laboratory operations.

Key Features

Manual Pressure Control

The YP Series uses a manual hydraulic mechanism, allowing the operator to increase pressure gradually by pumping the lever. The pressure gauge provides a direct reading of the applied force in Tons and MPa.

This design gives operators direct control over the pressing process without requiring an electrical control system.

Multiple Pressing Capacities

Five models are available to cover different sample preparation and material testing requirements:

  • YP-2: 2 ton
  • YP-3: 3 ton
  • YP-5: 5 ton
  • YP-12: 12 ton
  • YP-12B: 15 ton

The appropriate capacity can be selected according to the required pressing force, mold dimensions, and sample material.

Compact Laboratory Design

The compact structure is suitable for laboratories where bench space is limited. The press can also be configured for glove box applications when the required working dimensions and operating conditions are met.

Dual-Scale Pressure Gauge

The pressure gauge uses a dual-scale display for Tons and MPa, allowing operators to monitor the pressing force directly during manual operation.

Integrated Hydraulic Structure

The integrated cylinder and piston construction helps minimize hydraulic leakage while maintaining stable pressing performance.

Customizable Working Structure

The column height can be increased according to application requirements. Circular, square, irregular, and battery-related molds can be selected or customized within the applicable pressure range.

Applications

The YP Series is designed for laboratory and research applications that require controlled manual hydraulic pressing.

Typical applications include:

  • Powder sample preparation
  • Pellet pressing
  • Material testing
  • Ceramic sample preparation
  • Metal powder compaction
  • Battery material research
  • Laboratory research and development
  • University and research institute testing
  • Quality control applications

Different molds and working configurations can be supplied according to the sample dimensions and pressing requirements.

Pressure Conversion

The following pressure conversion values can be used as a reference when operating the hydraulic system.

Pressing Force System Pressure
1 ton 0.75 MPa
3 tons 2.2 MPa
5 tons 3.7 MPa
10 tons 7.5 MPa
12 tons 9 MPa
15 tons 11.3 MPa
20 tons 15 MPa
30 tons 22.5 MPa
40 tons 30 MPa

The general system pressure should not exceed 35 MPa. Operating above this level may affect the service life of the equipment.

Configuration and Mold Options

The YP Series can be configured according to the required working height, mold dimensions, and pressing application.

The available configuration options include:

  • Increased column height
  • Circular molds
  • Square molds
  • Irregular-shaped molds
  • Battery molds
  • Customized molds within the applicable pressure range

Mold selection should be matched to the required sample dimensions and maximum pressing force of the selected model.

Manual pointer die press operation steps

Operating Procedure

01. Position the Mold

Place the mold in the center of the hydraulic press table and ensure that it is correctly aligned.

02. Close the Oil-Release Valve

Rotate the oil-release valve clockwise to close it before applying hydraulic pressure.

03. Secure the Mold

Tighten the lead screw to hold the mold securely in position.

04. Apply Pressure

Pump the hydraulic lever back and forth until the pressure gauge reaches the required pressing force.

05. Release Pressure

After pressing is complete, rotate the oil valve counterclockwise to release the hydraulic pressure gradually.

06. Remove the Mold

Remove the pressed mold from the hydraulic press and proceed with sample handling.

Pressure Gauge and Manual Control

The YP Series uses a mechanical pressure gauge with Tons and MPa scales. During operation, the operator can monitor the gauge while manually pumping the hydraulic lever.

This operating method provides a straightforward pressing process without relying on electronic programming or touchscreen controls. It is suitable for applications where operators need direct control over the applied pressure.

Safety and Pressure Stability

The hydraulic system is designed to maintain stable pressure during laboratory pressing. Pressure stability is specified at ≤1 MPa over 10 minutes.

The mechanical structure provides a stable working platform for manual pressing, while the pressure gauge allows the operator to monitor the applied force during operation.

The general system pressure should remain within the specified operating range to avoid excessive loading and potential reduction in equipment service life.
