Working Principle

The FTIR spectrometer operates on the principle of interferometric modulation. Light emitted from the source is transformed into an interference beam by a Michelson interferometer. The interference beam then illuminates the sample, and the detector receives the interfered light carrying the sample information. Using computer software and Fourier Transform calculations, the sample’s infrared spectrum can be obtained efficiently.
